A. For your discrimination lawsuit to prove successful, you must provide evidence of the following:

  • That you were employed or hired for employment when the discriminatory action occurred
  • That a negative action was taken against you
  • That the negative action was taken because of your status within a protected class
  • That you were harmed by the discriminatory action or wrongful termination

If you have not already done so, be sure to write down as much specific information as possible about the discriminatory action taken against you. You should also include specific dates whenever possible.

Q. Is There A Statute Of Limitations For Filing A Workplace Discrimination Complaint?

A. Yes. Employees who believe they were unjustly discriminated against must generally file a complaint within a specified amount of time from the date the perceived discriminatory action took place.
