Rapper Gucci Mane accused of causing an injury to a fan after hitting him with a bottle

| Apr 10, 2013 | Firm News |

Rapper Gucci Mane, 33, was jailed on Wednesday for allegedly hitting a fan in the head with a champagne bottle at a nightclub earlier this month.

Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, turned himself in to authorities late on Tuesday, according to Fulton County Sheriff’s Department records.

Mane, faces an aggravated assault charge after causing a “severe laceration” to fan whom he hit on the head with a champagne bottle on March 16, according to a police report. The fan had approached Mane and tried to strike up a conversation, police said.

In an interview with a CNN affiliate, the victim said, “I’m in the military. I wanted to get a picture with Gucci Mane, I was speaking to the security guard, and Gucci Mane hit me in the head with a bottle.”  The soldier was treated at a local hospital and received 10 stitches. Four days later, a second man claimed Mane punched him in the face, when he tried to shake his hand after a concert.  Gucci Mane turned himself in on the aggravated assault charges. He was denied bond and is incarcerated at Fulton County Jail.
